The state of the basketball program at the University of Tennessee is in great shape, perhaps the best it's ever been.

According to one of the state's top basketball prospects, that's one of the main reasons he was drawn to an early commitment to the Vols.

"It about the style of play and how Bruce Pearl coaches," Tennessee current commitment Chris Jones told InsideTennessee.com. "He brings a lot to this basketball program that makes prospects all over the country want to play at Rocky Top."

Jones, who is rated as a four-star prospect by Scout.com, played this past basketball season at Memphis Melrose High School, though it appears that may be changing.

"I will either play at Rockdale or at Wheeler High School this fall," the 2011 prospect said. "We will make the final decision some time in July."

Jones has made the trip to Knoxville a lot over the last year.

"I have probably been to the campus at least five times," Jones said. "I really love the environment there. I love how the fans come out and support the team."

Jones also keeps in contact with the Vol coaching staff.

"I keep in contact with them a lot," Jones said. "I'm very committed to Tennessee; there is no doubt about it."

Jones will be staying busy playing summer basketball and focusing on the fall season ahead.
