That possibility became a reality Monday afternoon when the talented offensive lineman found out that he had received an official offer from the Volunteers.
"I was really surprised," Crowder told InsideTennessee.com. "We weren't expecting it. I knew I had a good camp Saturday, it's good to know my hard work is paying off."
Crowder, who already was holding eight offers before the UT camp, decided to make a return trip to check out the campus on Monday.
"We went in and they called us into Coach Dooley's office," Crowder said. "He gave me the offer; we were very excited and very surprised."
According to Crowder, the camp went well and the UT coaches apparently liked his work ethic.
"They worked with me a lot Saturday, apparently they liked what they saw," Crowder said. "Tennessee is definitely one of the top schools on my list."
Crowder plans on taking another unofficial visit to Knoxville in the near future, to get a better feel of the campus and the academic programs.
Crowder still plans on making a final decision before his senior season, and he might make that decision quicker, depending on the right situation.
"We will just have to wait and see," Crowder said Tuesday morning. "If one school starts filling up at the center position, then I might have to make my decision quicker. We will just have to wait and see."
