Memphis Mitchell mammoth lineman Kevin Layrock is hoping that attending summer camps will help get his name out to college coaches around the country.

Mitchell recently attended a camp at the University of Memphis; he also plans on attending ones at Middle Tennessee and at the University of Tennessee.

"The Memphis camp was good," Layrock told InsideTennessee.com. "I did really well in all my one-on-one situations."

Layrock, a 6-foot-1, 300-pound defensive tackle, is hoping to take in a Tennessee camp some time this summer.

"I like Tennessee a lot," Layrock said. "I grew up cheering for the Orange and White."

While Layrock has no official offers, he is hoping his efforts and camp exposure will pay off.

"Several schools seem interested," Layrock said. "Memphis, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee to mention a few."

Layrock also earned MVP honors as the top defensive lineman at one in-state combine earlier this spring.
