One of the top defensive backs in Alabama will be making a trip to Rocky Top on Monday.
Leeds, Ala., athlete Jonathan Rose confirmed with InsideTennessee.com Saturday evening that he is indeed heading to Knoxville this upcoming week.
"I will be there Monday to visit with the coaching staff and check things out a little closer," Rose said. "This will be my first trip to Tennessee. I'm looking forward to seeing everything firsthand."
Rose will arrive Monday for an unofficial visit and will stay and camp with the Vols on Tuesday.
"Right now I don't know a whole lot about Tennessee," Rose said. "I know they are recruiting me really hard right now. Coach Lance Thompson really seems to love it at Tennessee, and he keeps telling me great things about their program."
Without ever seeing the Knoxville campus, Thompson is apparently doing something right in Rose's recruitment.
"Tennessee is in my top four favorites," Rose said. "I can't wait to take the visit, to camp with them and see what Tennessee football is all about."
Rose is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound athlete who is ranked a three-star prospect by Scout.com and is rated the No. 31 defensive corner in the country.
Rose had 48 tackles last season and five interceptions. He had four scores on special teams as well. He says he can bench 255 pounds, squat 310 and has a 36-inch vertical jump.
Rose plans to major in business and reports a 3.0 core GPA and a 17 ACT, which he'll retake.
