One of the top defensive linemen in the country wanted to see firsthand what Tennessee Football was all about.
South Carolina defensive end LaTeek Townsend spoke with InsideTennessee.com about his recent visit to Rocky Top.
"I really enjoyed myself," Townsend said. "There really wasn't anything I didn't know about them, but I wanted to see for myself what the program was all about."
Townsend spent a day and a half on the Knoxville campus, and the overall atmosphere on campus impressed the talented four-star defensive end.
"Everyone really seems nice," Townsend said. "The people in Knoxville love their football team."
Townsend was also impressed with Derek Dooley and his new UT coaching staff.
"They seem really straight up and deal with you that way," Townsend said. "They really seem like a group of coaches I can trust."
Townsend apparently liked everything about his visit.
"It was definitely enlightening," Townsend said. "Now, I just have to continue looking at some other schools and see where I end up at. I liked Tennessee a lot."
