For one Georgia defensive lineman, his recent visit to Tennessee gave him a lot to think about.
Scout.com's four-star defensive end Stephon Tuitt recently took his second trip to Rocky Top to get better acquainted with the Vol coaching staff.
"The first trip I got to see a lot more about the academic side of things," Tuitt told InsideTennessee.com. "This last trip I got to know the coaches a lot better. I got the chance to get to know Chuck Smith a lot better. He is a great coach."
According to Tuitt, he has already learned how to be a better lineman because of Smith.
"Just watching some of the drills, he has already taught me a lot," Tuitt said. "The trip was great. I like Coach Smith a lot."
Where does Tennessee stack up with some of Tuitt's other offers?
"Right now I'm not sure," Tuitt said. "I'm going to sit down and discuss everything with my mom and narrow things down in a couple of weeks. I will decide then what five schools will get an official visit.
"I'm not sure if Tennessee will get an official visit or not. It's a cool school and there are a lot of strong factors about the Tennessee program. We will just have to wait and see."
Scout.com's Southeast recruiting manager had this to say about Tuitt.
"Tuitt is a big athlete with great range and speed off the edge. He is raw in technique and needs to add strength to play better against the run, but he has a very high ceiling. His size, athleticism, and versatility make him a top recruit in 2011. He makes a lot of plays now off raw ability, but once he is coached up, watch out."
