On Monday, the Texas A&M Board of Regents released an agenda for a telephonic meeting to be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM.

Item one of the meeting agenda is to consider providing the president of Texas A&M University the authority to negotiate and execute future deals for the TV rights in the Big 12 Conference.

Some media sources are speculating that this will lead to a Texas A&M network arrangement with Fox Sports Southwest similar to the network the University of Texas negotiated with ESPN.

Aggie Websider's sources have indicated that this move by the Board of Regents (BOR) is simply to give the university the authority to negotiate and execute deals in a timely manner without submitting every proposed deal to the BOR for approval. It is not believed that a long-term university network that ties Texas A&M to the Big 12 is eminent as a result of Tuesday's potential action by the BOR.

The Texas A&M University System press release is below.
