Launch of 2013 Football Recruiting Board

With the 2012 Texas A&M recruiting class almost filled ten months before signing day, our attention is beginning to shift to future classes. It is our pleasure to launch the Websider.com 2013 Football Recruiting Board containiong over 130 prospects, subjectively listed and ranked by position. It looks like 2013 will be a strong year for QBs, DTs, and RBs.

With the 2012 Texas A&M recruiting class almost filled ten months before signing day, our attention is beginning to shift to future classes.

It is our pleasure to launch the Websider.com 2013 Football Recruiting Board. This initial 2013 Football Recruiting Board contains over 130 prospects, subjectively listed and ranked by position.

Texas A&M got an early start to their 2013 class with the commitments of defensive end Christian Lecouture (6-5, 250) from Odessa Permian and wide receiver Jamar Gibson (6-2, 190) from Baytown Sterling.

Our early analysis is that 2013 looks to be a very strong class for quarterbacks and an unusually strong class for defensive tackles.

After signing two quarterbacks in 2012, Matt Davis and Trevor Knight, we look for the Aggies to sign just one quarterback in 2013.

Leading candidates for this 2013 Aggie quarterback slot are Tyrone Swoopes (6-5, 220) from Whitewright, Chris Johnson (6-5, 195) from Bryan, Austin Robinson (6-4, 210) from Bellaire Episcopal, Devante Kincade (6-0, 175) from Dallas Skyline, Cole Hunt (6-5, 190) from El Campo, Kohl Stewart (6-3, 185) from Houston St Pius,  Kenny Hill (6-1, 205) from Southlake Carroll, and Connor Feist (6-2, 185) from Langham Creek.

Defensive tackle is a position that seldom has many solid prospects. It looks like 2013 could be an exception. Leading defensive tackle prospects include Darius James (6-4, 295) from Killeen Harker Heights, A'Shawn Robinson (6-4, 300) from Arlington Heights, Vincent Taylor (6-3, 240) from San Antonio Madison, Justin Manning (6-2, 280) from Dallas Kimball, Ben Hughes (6-4, 310) from Waco University, Jacobi Hunter (6-1, 285) from Cypress Falls, Andrew Billings (6-2, 270) from Waco,  Cornelius Henderson (6-4, 270) from Duncanville, Isaiah Golden (6-3, 295) from Elysian Fields, and De'Xavier Lancaster (6-2, 265) from Houston Wheatley.

Running back is always a strong position in Texas and 2013 will continue that tradition.

At this stage, the top running back prospects appear to be Laquintas Wallace (5-11, 185) from Tyler Lee, Adam Taylor (6-1, 190) from Katy, James White (6-0, 205) from Pearland Dawson, Jamel James (5-11, 210) from Katy Cinco Ranch, Keith Ford (5-11, 210) from Cypress Ranch, Marcus Goodson (5-9, 170) from Klein Collins, Raashaan Reason (5-7. 160) from West Mesquite, and Dezmond Wortham (5-11, 190) from Lewisville Hebron.

With the performance we expect to see on the field this fall, we look for Texas A&M to follow their great 2012 recruiting class with another outstanding class in 2013.
