Jacobs Sets Up Visit to Texas A&M

Despite currently committed to the Tennessee Volunteers, East Mississippi CC defensive lineman Damien Jacobs has scheduled an official visit to Texas A&M. Aggie Websider's David Sandhop recently spoke with Jacobs and has the very latest on his recruitment.

Although he's currently committed to Tennessee, East Mississippi Community College defensive lineman Damien Jacobs is keeping his options open and has decided to take at least one more visit on September 24.

"I'm going to visit Texas A&M on September 24 with my teammate Brandon Moore," Jacobs said. "I like the direction of the program. They are in the Top 10 and they are going to the SEC."

There's another compelling reason why Jacobs is suddenly looking hard at playing his collegiate football in Texas with the Aggies.

"They have all three starting defensive linemen graduating after this season," Jacobs said. "Coach Williams (Texas A&M DL coach) said if I take care of business I'll have a good chance to start my first year. When you are a JUCO and only have a couple of years to play, you have to go where the opportunity is."

Jacobs is looking forward to the game atmosphere at Kyle Field, and the game with Oklahoma State will likely be a battle of Top 10 teams. He's also looking forward to spending time with the coaching staff and players to see how he fits in with the team.

Jacobs indicated that he's still committed to Tennessee, and he's unsure whether his trip to College Station will be his last or if he plans to take more trips.

"I'm just checking some schools out," Jacobs said. "I'm not sure what I'll do. That's why I'm taking this trip."
