Texas A&M Mid-Week Recruiting Nuggets

Have recent losses hurt Texas A&M's chances with some Louisiana commitments? Aggie Websider's David Sandhop has the latest on A&M commits Alonzo Williams and Darian Monroe in addition to A&M target Denzel Devall.

I spoke to several people with ties to Louisiana including our own Mike Coppage. In fact, Coppage recently spoke to Darian Monroe who has been very hard to get on the phone during the season. You will hear talk of him wanting to take visits, but he says he's 100% committed to A&M and his coaches are saying the same thing. He's looking to take some social trips. In fact, several schools that were on him pretty hard have backed off recently because Monroe's coaches have told them he's solid to the Aggies.

I've also heard from a source who speaks with one of Alonzo Williams' roommates out in California said that he plans to return to Texas/Louisiana after the school year and attend Texas A&M. That's the plan for now. I know there was some concern that after having a great season on the west coast and being recruited hard by several Pac-12 schools including UCLA and USC that he may stay out there to attend college. Anyway, my source says that's not the case for now.

That's good news because Williams has blown up in his senior season.

I'm waiting to get a phone number tomorrow for Trinity Euless DE Solo Manukainiu who is committed to OU and one of the fastest rising defensive prospects in the state. He visited A&M last weekend and he was giving off good vibes. He's about 6-foot-5, 260 pounds and will be a perfect DE in the 3-4 weighing 275-280 pounds by the time he sees the field.

Denzel Devall stood me up for our interview Sunday so I'm still efforting that conversation along with Damien Jacobs who just returned from his Tennessee visits.
