Aggies Battle Cowboys in Crucial Series

The Texas Aggie baseball team travels to Stillwater, Oklahoma to finish its final Big 12 series against the Oklahoma State Cowboys with second place and a regional host on the line. Here's a preview of this important series.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The sixth-ranked Texas A&M baseball team will conclude the 2012 regular season this weekend as it travels to Stillwater, Okla., to face Oklahoma State in a three-game series at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

The series will begin Thursday night with a 6:30 p.m. contest before continuing on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and concluding with a 1 p.m. game on Saturday afternoon.

Both Texas A&M (38-14) and Oklahoma State (32-20) enter the weekend tied for second in the Big 12 standings, sharing identical 13-8 league records.

Oklahoma State holds a 34-30 all-time edge in the series, but the Aggies lead the series by a 25-24 mark since the formation of the Big 12 Conference prior to the 1997 season.

Recently, the Aggies have held the upper hand in the series, winning the final two games of the 2009 series in College Station before sweeping the Cowboys each of the last two seasons. The eight-game winning streak is the best for the Aggies in history of the series.

Texas A&M head coach Rob Childress is 10-8 all-time against Oklahoma State.
