Parker Flips Maroon

Head coach Kevin Sumlin continues to cause a buzz in recruiting circles with his first full recruiting class at Texas A&M. He added to his blue chip haul on Sunday when former LSU commit Kyrion Parker gave the Aggies his verbal pledge.

After an injury-filled junior season that had him on the sidelines at Houston Lamar High School for all but the first game of the season, wide receiver Kyrion Parker was an unknown on the recruiting scene heading into the spring evaluation period. That quickly changed when the 6-foot-3, 185-pound receiver transferred to Manvel and impressed every college coach that stopped by to watch practice.

15 offers later including opportunities to play for LSU, Arkansas, OU, and Texas A&M, Parker quickly became a hot commodity on the recruiting circuit.

On Sunday, Parker committed to Kevin Sumlin and the Aggies.

The fast-rising pass catcher originally committed to LSU last month, but shortly afterward realized he jumped the gun and opened up his recruitment.

After recent trips to Texas and Texas A&M, Parker decided to stay closer to home and play in Sumlin's high-power offense. Parker joins fellow Manvel teammate Tavares Garner in the highly-regarded 2013 A&M class.
