The Texas Aggie football team is just two days away from starting game prep for the season opener against Rice and the team took to the practice fields in full pads. There have been rumors since Saturday that Matt Davis may transfer after the disappointing performance on Saturday and the lack of reps with the team. It's becoming apparent that freshman Kenny Hill has already passed him up on the depth chart. Since he has burned his redshirt year, it does make sense for him to transfer immediately but timing is not good. Anyway, he was suited out and practicing on Tuesday.
In the live 11-on-11 drills, Johnny Manziel continues to run with the first team and Hill ran the second unit. Significant players out today included Tremain Jacobs, Malcolm Kennedy, and Deshazor Everett. Brandon Williams was dressed out and participated in non-contact drills. Here's the rotation today.

Manziel was very efficient, completing four straight passes for a quick touchdown. The first play was a screen pass to Ben Malena who gobbled up about 6-7 yards. Then he completed a pass out in the flat to Ricky Seals-Jones for another 5-6 yards and a first down. Then Manziel hit Seals-Jones again on the other sideline for a 5-yard gain. That set-up a third consecutive pass completion to Seals-Jones, but this time on a crossing route in the middle of the field against a railing Donnie Baggs for a 20+ yard TD pass. I have the sequence photographed in today practice gallery.
The four-play drive took all of 90-120 seconds in real time.
Kenny Hill started his drive with a 3-4 yard gain by Trey Williams followed by a small loss on a sack. A completion to Gaston Lamascus on short crossing pattern netted close to 10 yards and a first down followed by a short 5-6 yard catch and run down the sideline by Jeremy Tabuyo. At that point, the coaches called for a field goal that was good and that ended our access to practice.
A scout from the Redskins was on-hand today looking at the OL's for the most part, but also watched the QB's and WR's.
There's one more practice open to the media and that will be it for Fall Camp 2013.
