Game Balls: New Mexico State

The Texas A&M Aggies handled the task at hand Saturday, downing visiting New Mexico State 52-10 at Kyle Field. As is the case each week, Aggie Digest hands out it's Game Balls to the game's top performers.

The Texas A&M Aggies did a good job remaining focused on the task at hand, the visiting New Mexico State Aggies, downing them 52-10 at Kyle Field Saturday night.

As is the case each week, we hand out our Game Balls to the Texas A&M standouts from the win.

Christian Kirk - Where else could you start than with the talented sophomore who yet again put on a show of his versatility on Saturday by scoring on a reception and finding the end zone twice via punt return. Kirk finished his day with a team leading 5 catches for 36 yards and a score. His two punt returns were of 70 and 73 yards respectively.

Otaro Alaka - You don't want to be the jinx but Alaka has had a solid season, simply from having good health so far. Saturday he had a team leading six tackles, including a sack, in an abbreviated performance.

Kendall Bussey - Games like these are when you get a glimpse sometimes of players that are waiting in the wings. Saturday Bussey was one of those guys, coming in after the starters were leaving but showing great burst and vision. He finished his abbreviated day with 10 carries for 87 yards.

Claude George - George has quietly been putting together a pretty solid season for the Aggies. He has become a solid contributor in the linebacker rotation and played some extended minutes Saturday. He finished his day with five tackles, including a sack and another tackle-for-loss. He also had a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry.

Trayveon Williams - Williams and Keith Ford split carries early in the game when the starters were still in. They pretty much split the carries and had very similar days, with the exception that Williams found the end zone once. I gave him the nod with his eight carries for 49 yards and the score.
