Chambless Has Top Two; May Add Another Visit

Athlete Jordan Chambless of Corpus Christi (Calallen) already officially visited Rice. Up next for the 6-foot-1 and 192 pound quarterback/wide receiver is an official visit to Texas A&M this upcoming weekend.

"Rice is a great academic school," Chambless said. "I would say they are my leader but I haven't been anywhere else yet and that can change after my next visit this weekend."

One advantage for A&M is that he's not too fond of a wishbone offensive set like Rice has.

"I would rather play in a pro-set offense," he said.

Chambless told The Insiders.com that Rice is recruiting him as a quarterback and A&M is recruiting him as an athlete.

"I would prefer to play quarterback but I'm open to other position such as wide receiver or defensive back," he said.

All the teams he's considering will allow him to play baseball also.

The Corpus Christi (Calallen) senior is still thinking over where he'll take his last official visit.

"My last visit will be to either Houston or Baylor," he said. "I've been to Houston a lot and I know what they are all about."

What is he looking for in a school?

"I'm looking for someplace that has the best education and best university," he said. "Someplace where I'll fit in and be able to contribute early."

As a senior, Chambless passed for 2,500 yards and 25 TDs. He also rushed the ball for 1,027 yards and 23 TDs.
