We caught up with La Marque defensive back Korey Mangum, No. 44 in the Texas Hot 100, to see if his Texas A&M verbal remains solid.

The Texas top 100 told TheInsiders, "I'm pretty solid."

But you never know what might happen during a long recruiting year.

"Right now, I'm pretty solid with A&M," Mangum said. "But I've been getting hit pretty hard by Iowa, Arkansas and Georgia Tech."

Other schools that have been sending paperwork his way are "Oklahoma, OSU,and Houston".

"But none of those schools have laid out the solid offer like A&M has," Mangum noted.

After having a solid junior campaign, tallying 30-40 tackles and 6 interceptions, the La Marque defender expects more of the same this year.

"We have 3 starters in the secondary coming back, so we should have a monster year this season."

La Marque starts spring ball in April but they have already started "running over the basics".

The 5-11, 180-pounder said he thinks La Marque can go back-to-back this year.

Along with Texas Hot 100 selections Mangum and Ward, La Marque also has the Lone State state's No. 43, RB Russell Ball. It apppears Coach Bryan Erwin and Gang will be tough to beat in 2004.

All three La Marque studs will be on display at the April 4th Houston MSL/TheInsiders camp located at The University of Houston.
