"Chad has always liked Texas A&M," Thiebaud said. "And, he's excited about being able to play in the Big 12 and to play for a great coach like Coach Fran. Also, Texas A&M and our team run almost the same identical defensive scheme so it will be something he can step right into a feel comfortable with. I believe the A&M staff is getting a great player that a lot of people don't yet know about."
Asked coach what Lindsey's upsides on the field might be, Thiebaud said, "Chad has a great nose for the ball. He is extremely intelligent. And he's got a great motor with a lot of energy and he can deliver a lick. Another thing that makes Chad such a complete player is that we don't have to take him out of the game if we go to nickle. He can bounce out on a guy and play the pass very well. He's a great blitzer -- has good instincts.
So does the coach think the kid can step in and play as a freshmen?
"I think he has a great chance to play," said the Cypress Ridge head coach, "Probably a lot of special teams. Maybe some nickle, but he will have to earn his keep. No one is going to roll over for him, but he's the type of kid that is up for a challenge.
Lindsey is also a fine student according to coach Thiebaud, with good classroom work habits.
According to Thiebaud, Lindsey's current HT/WT/40 is "6-2, 215 4.5."
Texas A&M may have stolen quite a student athlete from under the nose of most of the Big 12. They're definitely not waiting around to get the players they want. We look forward to learning more about Mr. Lindsey...
