Per the El Campo head man, Brown had 22 receptions last season.
"If we were a team that threw more," Gillis explained, "Arkeith would have had triple that. He is an outstanding player. On the defensive side of the ball he recorded 5 picks returning 2 for scores."
Gillis believes Brown fits the corner projection more so than as a wideout.
The El Campo senior-to-be brings hops and speed to the table regardless of position.
"He's a 6'10 high-jumper and recorded a 47-plus in the triple jump. He's clocked as low as a 4.36 in the forty and can rip off a 4.4 all day long."
Not too shabby…
Brown was an all-state kickoff returner last year with an average of over 30-plus per return.
"His speed is one of the attributes I think A&M liked," Gillis informed. "Last season in the playoffs he caught (La Marque speed back) Russell Ball from behind and you know how good and fast he is."
Again, I must say that the Aggies continue being real aggressive in not only their pursuit of prospects they see fitting the Dennis Franchione and Gang standard, but going after the guys they want and getting them to commit.
