Alton Dixon Reaffirms Commitment Status

Some of the Maroon and White faithful have said that one particular news service still has Alton Dixon listed as an A&M commitment after our report about ten days ago showed that to be erroneous. However, for the sake of double-checkin', the Lufkin DB goes on record about his commitment status again...

"No, I did not commit to A&M," Alton Dixon reaffirmed to 12thFan.com. "You had it right the first time and you still have it right."

"Right now, I'm looking at two schools -- A&M and OU," Dixon continued. "A&M leads. But just by a little."

Asked if he was trippin' to Washington State for an official visit along with McKinner Dixon and Jorvorskie Lane, Dixon said, "No. I'm not going to go with them."

Any official visits set up thus far?

"OU wanted me to set one up for them in October," said the Texas Hot 100 No. 21. "And I might still try to do that. But if not, then probably in November."

Has an official visit date been set up for A&M?

"Not yet," Dixon said. " I would come in on December 10th (A&M's big recruiting weekend) but we're going to be playing in the state championship game that weekend. So, I'm not going to be able to make it that weekend."

He is confident. And, apparently, can read a crystal ball. Folks, that's the 6-0, 190-pound Lufkin cornerback prospect, Alton Dixon...
