Top 100 Prospect Still Available

Midland Lee defensive back/return specialist Chevar Bryson is flying under the radar in some places but can be found on the Scout.com Southwest Hot 100 and Texas Hot 100. Checking in with the State's No. 64 for a quick update, Bryson filled us in on exactly which teams are showing the most interest in him at this point...

"A&M, Baylor and UTEP are the schools recruiting me the most right now," Chevar Bryson told Scout.com.

Asked about his dialogue with the Aggies, the 5-11, 185-pounder -- who clocked a 4.38 (40) at the mid/late-July A&M camp -- said, "They want me to take an official visit in January. Sometime this week, I'm going to set one up. (TAMU cornerbacks) Coach (Chris) Thurmond is recruiting me."

As for the Bears?

"I have spoken with (BU safeties) Coach (Larry) Hoefer," Bryson informed. "He wants me to come up for a visit. They know we're going to go far in the playoffs, so they're trying to get one set up sometime in January also."

And the Miners?

"I really haven't been able to connect with the UTEP coaches," Bryson said. "Seems like when they call, I'm not home. Then, I try to return their call and it just rings. But they got a hold of Coach Quis and said they want me to take an official visit."

High School Note: Bryson has a pair of INTs, 2 punt returns for TDs and 1 kick return for TD.
