Alief Elsik OLB Prospect Chooses A&M

Alief Elsik OLB prospect Trey Ross ended the recruiting suspense when he gave Texas A&M a commitment this past week. The 6-4/200-pounder went on record with Scout.com about the events leading up to his commitment and more...

The Texas A&M coaches invited me to the A&M-Texas Tech game," Trey Ross told Scout.com. "And, I liked it. Then, I called them back to tell them I was interested in going there.

Asked who he spoke to, Ross said, "I talked Coach Melvin Smith, told him I wanted to go there. "

"Well, about two weeks after that they come down to the school and got my transcripts and watched some film," Ross continued. "Coach Smith said, 'You could be a good linebacker. Do you want to go to A&M?' And, I said, 'Yeah.'"

The Alief Elsik prep will take his official visit to College Station next weekend (12/3-12/5).

For the Rams, he played (weakside) DE in his junior and senior seasons. However, he has some experience at (weakside) LB, where we project him to play at A&M, having played that position his freshman and sophomore seasons.

Senior Stats at WDE: "7 tackles a game, 6-7 pressures a game, 4 sacks, 3 FFs, 1 FR."
