Zach Anderson Collects JUCO Defensive POY

JUCO DT Zach Anderson is a prospect to follow, no doubt. Just last night, the 6-4, 266-pounder took home the JUCO Defensive Player of the Year award in the North as well as 1st-team all-state and 1st-team all-region DT honors. We caught up with him to talk official visits, A&M and more...

"Right now, I've only set up two official visits," Zach Anderson told Scout.com. "I'm going to Wisconsin this weekend (12/3) and Texas A&M in January (1/14). Nothing else has been set up at this time."

Anderson did say that two schools in particular stand an excellent chance of landing official visits...

"I'm probably going to take one to Memphis and Southern Miss," he said. "And maybe one to Baylor. But I'm not sure yet."

Thoughts on the A&M?

"Coach Thurmond is recruiting me. I got a homeboy (Renuel Green) that goes there and he said it's a football program. He likes it. So, I'm going to take an official visit and check it out."

Anderson will have two year to play two and will be ready to go in the summer.

Season Stats: 63 tackles, 46 solo, 8.5 sacks, 30 pressures, 6 tipped passes, 2 FFs, 2 FRs.
