Richardson Talks A&M Visit; Commitment Status

Duncanville LB Jodie Richardson, Texas Hot 100 #23, took his official visit to College Station this weekend. We caught up with him to grab his thoughts on the trip, what his current commitment status is, and more...

"I'm firm to A&M," Jodie Richardson told Scout.com. "I'm not going to take anymore visits. That's where I want to go. I know that even more now."

Highlights of his official were "Just hangin' out with the guys. They like to play around a lot. They're goofy and have a lot of fun. That's my kind of place. That's where I need to be."

According to Richardson, "Coach Fran" sat down with him and said (Richardson's words): "I knew you were firm to us all along. I could see it your eyes when you first came down here that you were solid with us."

Apparently, Franchione was spot on...

"He also gave me his cell phone number and told me I could call him anytime," said Richardson, the physical and play-making linebacker from Duncanville high school.

Richardson joins former Duncanville standout and current A&M redshirt Pierre Brown.

"Pierre was my host and he was just givin' me the real deal on how things go down there," said the 4-star blue-chipper. "And, he was also telling me how much he liked it there. And, that he still has his four years of eligibility sine he redshirted this season to get bigger and stronger."

One of the coaches Richardson was able to check out in action, with A&M in bowl preparations for their Cotton Bowl match-up with Tennessee, was A&M DC Carl Torbush, who really has a larger-than-life, Burt Reynolds-type personality, and is fun to watch...

"I really like Coach Torbush and the way he coaches," Richardson said. "He gets in people's faces and is really intense. That's the way I want to be coached. Everyone on the team said he gets really excited out there. And, I like that."

The A&M defensive coordinator really likes Richardson too...

"He said he was ready for me to get down there and play right now.I told him I had my cleats in the car."

Sounds like the Richardson-A&M marriage is fully on...
