Dallas Skyline outside LB prospect Mike Morgan is a Scout.com Texas Top 200 prospect that we recently checked out on our DFW-Area tour. We talk about what we saw and bring you his early favorites at this point in the process…
was eyeballed last week and measures at or near 6-3.5/6-4, 185 pounds. He projects, IMO, as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme more so than at any other position. Next, I would project him as a WILL linebacker (4-3 scheme), and then possibly as a speed end (ala a college football-sized Dwight Freeney
type of DE). But a 3-4 linebacker/rush end appears to be the best projection for this kid...
Morgan, IMO, needs to get on a college strength program now. Make no mistake he will add some weight in the future. But he is rail thin at this point. It'll be interesting to see how much more weight he'll be carrying this time next year. I could see him weighing in at or near 205. And that wouldn't be so bad for an OLB/RE prospect…
His early faves?
"Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Kansas."
Next group of faves?
"Oklahoma State, Nebraska, LSU."
JR Season Stats: Morgan racked up 98 tackles, 18 sacks and 7 forced fumbles as a junior and was named to the All-District team.
