Pierre Fleurinor: A&M Commit/Scouting Report

Scout.com was in Wharton the other day to check out A&M commitment Pierre Fleurinor. We size him up, talk about his college projection and bring you a brief scouting report on his abilities…

Pierre Fleurinor, of Wharton, Texas measured 5-11.5, 210 pounds when he jumped on the scale at his high school just this past week for Scout.com. He currently plays linebacker and running back for Wharton but we're projecting him as a strong safety. Watching him in 7-on-7-action during his high school practice, this kid covers a lot of ground, does it quickly -- can flat out run. We're leaning toward listing him in the mid/high 4.5 range.

"I just really liked their program," Fleurinor on why he gave A&M an early verbal said. "They have a couple of my teammates there (Kellen Heard, Terrence Ward) and we have sort of have a pipeline going right now. But I really like the direction of program. I think it's on the rise under Coach Fran."

Asked if his commitment would be considered solid today, Fleurinor said, "Yes, Sir. It's solid."

Stats: Defensively, 92 tackles, 14 TFL (includes sacks), 2 INTs, with one returned for TD. Offensively, 88 carries, 574 yards, 6 TDs; 5 receptions, 46 yards.

Academics: 3.17 GPA, 890 SAT.

Scouting Report (via DC David Orsag): "He's a heckuva running back and linebacker for us. He could be a strong safety-type in college and he will knock your head in the dirt. He can run, is in great shape, and he is very well built -- very solid. The A&M secondary coach (Melvin Smith) is very excited about him."
