Malcolm Williams: DB Commit/Scouting Report

South Grand Prairie has been a shopping bed for three Big 12 South programs looking to add upper-echelon D-I prospects to their program. Texas A&M snatched up one a couple of weeks ago when they received a verbal commitment from CB/S prospect Malcolm Williams. Below, we bring you a brief scouting report on what his commitment means to the Aggies…

"Malcolm Williams wanted to go to A&M all along, and we had two other prospects who signed with the schools they wanted to go to, so we've been kind of lucky in that regard," South Grand Prairie head man David Fisher feeling good about what he has been able to do for his kids said.

Let's take at look at the 5-10, 185-pounder's stats and impressive strength numbers for a kid his size:

Junior Season Stats: 85 tackles, 7 TFLs, 2 sacks, 7 INTs (1 returned for TD), 2 FFs, 1 FR, 4 blocked kicks (1 returned for TD)

Weight Room-Numbers: 300 power clean, 485 squat.

Scouting Report (via SGP head coach): "He'll be a three-year starter for us, was named Sophomore Defensive Player of the Year and named all-district as junior. He's 5-10, 185-pound free safety who runs 4.4 and has a 35-inch vertical. Second best in the state with a 48' triple jump and has a 22' long jump and runs on the mile- and 800-relay teams. He's just a great all-around athlete, never in trouble, and just a great kid."
