Texas Top 20 Running Backs

The early nod for the No. 1-spot in the Scout.com Preseason Texas Top 100 goes to...

Klein Collins RB Michael Goodson (for discussion on this selection, click here). However, due to the number of in-state blue chip running backs, you might not see Goodson rated No. 1 on every recruiting list, and perhaps not even rated No. 1 at his position. The talent pool at running back is that deep and balanced. Scout.com projects at least four-five tailbacks with a shot to grab Texas Top 20 honors when we release the Scout.com Preseason Texas Top 100…

An early look at the Top 20 RBs in the Lone Star State…

Top Tailback: Michael Goodson (Klein Collins)

Other top running backs in the state of Texas this year who could challenge Goodson for that top spot include UT commitments Emmanuel Moody of Coppell (pictured), Derke Robinson of Lewisville Hebron and Vondrell McGee of Longview as well as A&M commitments Latrael Cooper of Cuero and Trent Hines of Midland Lee.

Top uncommitted running back prospects are Mon Williams of Mesquite Horn, Antwaan Cobb of Pflugerville, Donte Bean of North Garland, Jamaal Evans of Irving, Marc Malone of Ennis, Phillip Smith of Mansfield Summit, Jackie Robinson of Marshall, Phillip Tanner of Dallas Kimball, Al'Darius Thompson of North Mesquite, Jerald Turner of El Paso Andress, Keith Toston of Angelton, Sterling Endsley of Carrollton Newman Smith and Chris Ivory of Longview.

The state is absolutely loaded with talented running backs, with several others primed to challenge the names mentioned above as the top backs in the Lone Star State once the camp and combine circuit wraps up (running April through July)...
