A&M Adds Impact Commit

Plano West cornerback Jordan Pugh, considered one of the hardest-hitting DBs in the state, pulled the commitment trigger in favor of Texas A&M. And, 12thFan.com brings you the details. Go inside now to hear from the explosive corner,.

Jordan Pugh had Texas A&M at the top after narrowing down his list of schools recently, but that was just the tip of the iceberg. The Dallas Forth Worth Area No. 1 ranked cornerback took himself off the market by pledging his services to Dennis Franchione and gang, giving A&M four commitments in the Scout.com Texas Top 20.

With over 30 schools to consider, Pugh settled on five: "Texas A&M, Arkansas, Alabama, LSU and Miami." Then, paring down his list, he hit the road to see a few schools, up close and personal. While several others did their very best to impress, it was the atmosphere at A&M winning Pugh over, giving him that "just feels right" feeling.

Pugh said he "found everything I was looking for at Texas A&M", not much longer after returning from an unofficial visit to College Station.

"My commitment is very solid," he continued. "I had a great conversation with Coach Stan Eggen and know I will fit in well with the team."

The Lone Star State #3-rated cornerback was impressed with the "Texas A&M facilities, spirit, coaches, campus and school in general" where he plans on majoring in "Entrepreneurship."

The 4-star defender brings strength ("300 bench, 400 squat") to the DB ranks and a compact 5-10, 183-pound frame, with smoking 4.45-forty speed. Add it all up, and you have a big hitter in the secondary with a chance to make an enormous impact in the Carl Torbush defensive game plan.

Very solid and physical in run support, Pugh also has the skills to be effective in coverage, whether playing man or zone.

JR Season Stats: 40 unassisted tackles, 3 interceptions, 10 pass break ups.

Accolades: 1st-team all-district and 1st-team all-county.
