McGuffie gives his 'final answer'

It's official. Cy-Fair running back Sam McGuffie announced where he'll spend his college years on Sunday night. Aggie Websider's Dallas Shipp has the latest on the blue-chip running back and where he's heading after his senior year at Cy-Fair.

After much anticipation, Cy-Fair running back Sam McGuffie, one of the nation's top running backs, announced on Sunday night that he'll be heading to Ann Arbor, Mich., as part of the Wolverines' class of 2008.

"I'll be going to Michigan," McGuffie announced on KPRC in Houston. "I went to the University of Michigan a couple of weeks ago and I fell in love with it. It's a place where I can come in as a freshman and be an impact player."

McGuffie said he liked A&M, but wanted to try new experiences.

"I love A&M, it's real close to my house, I just feel that I want to experience new things and figured that I might as well go to University of Michigan."

The 6-foot, 190-pound senior-to-be ran for 3,121 yards and 43 touchdowns in 2006 and listed Texas A&M, Michigan, Notre Dame, USC and Florida as his top five schools before announcing his decision on Sunday.
