MISSOURI'S TIGHT ENDS COMPARED TO OTHERS YOU'VE SEEN
I don't know if I'd really call them tight ends. They're almost always split out. I think the fact that their size and strength and things make them very effective at what they do. They're more like slot receivers and make lots of plays and block for them.
Chase is having a fantastic year and he's a lot like his father who I remember well. Chase is cut out of the same cloth and makes a lot of plays for them,
WHAT KIND OF MATCH UP PROBLEMS DO THEY POSE?
I think their size and height is a problem for any DB who they can bang around and their athleticism is a problem for linebackers.
WHAT DID YOUR RUNNING GAME DO TO MISSOURI LAST YEAR THAT WAS SO SUCCESSFUL?
We were efficient and effective blocking, our tailbacks got to run the ball downhill and we had success with it as the game wore on.
WHAT WENT ON WITH MIKE GOODSON IN THE FIRST HALF AGAINST OU
Mike had some personal family issues last week and had to miss practice. He had limited practice time to learn the game plan and the guys who were at practice deserved to play a little bit too.
WHAT DOES IT SAY ABOUT THE BIG 12 WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE BCS STANDINGS?
I think a lot of people didn't realize how tough this league would be and I think this conference has done a great job of surviving the test of the season this year.
WHAT DOES IT SAY THAT TWO OF THE TEAMS RANKED THAT HIGH ARE FROM THE NORTH. IS THAT A SURPRISE?
It probably was (a surprise) for a lot of people. I think Kansas probably surprised the most people. I thought Missouri had a great football team and they had a lot of people coming back. If someone had asked me who I thought would win the North, I would have said Missouri. I think the South is still awfully tough though.
YOUR TEAM IS IN QUITE A STRETCH HERE PLAYING FOUR RANKED TEAMS IN A ROW. WHATS THE LEADERSHIP BEEN LIKE?
It's been tough, but the leadership has been so good that the guys have focused on getting ready to play the next week and know we've got some tough games.
SEE SIMILARITIES WITH KANSAS AND MISSOURI OFFENSE?
Yes and no. There are some things that are alike and some things that are some large differences. Probably Texas Tech and Kansas are the two schools that resemble Missouri the most.
