Sherman makes his first hire

New Texas A&M head coach Mike Sherman made his first hire this week, bringing Tim Cassidy back to Texas A&M as an associate athletic director and recruiting coordinator. Cassidy will begin working at Texas A&M immediately while Sherman finishes the season with the Houston Texans.

A&M officials confirmed that Tim Cassidy will return to Texas A&M as associate athletic director and will serve as recruiting coordinator under new head coach Mike Sherman.

He first gained a national reputation as a great recruiter in his two years as the director of recruiting and high school relations at the University of Florida (1987-1988). Cassidy also has sideline experience coaching the receivers at Morningside College in Sioux City from 1981 to 1983. He was a graduate assistant football coach at Texas A&M in 1983 and 1984 and was named the Aggies' recruiting coordinator in 1985.
