Aggies on Boyd's radar

It took Mike Sherman just a few days to secure the services of wide receiver, and former Oklahoma commit, Jeffrey Fuller. Now, Sherman may be on the verge of nabbing another one of the nation's top young wide receivers.

Texas A&M is now in the hunt for Lexington, KY wide receiver Aaron Boyd thanks to a relationship between Sherman and Boyd's brother, Shane.

Shane Boyd just completed his first season as a backup with the Houston Texans, where Sherman served as offensive coordinator before taking over the reigns at Texas A&M.

"I put a little bug in his ear and coach Sherman saw his highlights and loved him," Shane told WKYT in Kentucky. "He's really interested. My brother is surprisingly open. You know, people think I'm trying to push him to my school, Kentucky. But he's a high recruit and I just want him to go to the best situation."

Boyd, a 6-foot-5, 192 pound four-star wide receiver, caught 55 passes for 1,157 yards and 15 touchdowns at Henry Clay High School this year. He's rated as the No. 16 wide receiver in the nation by Scout.com and posted a

The Lexington native is also considering Kentucky, where Shane played quarterback from 2001-2004, Louisville, Miami, Tennessee and Virginia.
