Bell Enjoys Visit

A&M's first Junior Day for the class of 2010 reeled in some impressive recruits, one of which is Kempner running back Josh Bell. Aggie Websider's David Sandhop speaks with him about his trip to College Station to evaluate the possibility of playing for the Aggies.

One of the top junior running backs in the state of Texas in 2010 is Kempner High School's Joshua Bell. The 5-foot-11, 192-pound back has prototypical size for the next level and his 4.47 forty speed is already attracting the attention of many schools. Bell took his first junior day visit earlier this month when he attended the Texas A&M event and the trip received high marks.

"It was great. The tradition got to me with Kyle Field and just how serious they take football there," Bell said. "But it was the players that really stood out. They said it was like a family. Coach Sherman is tough on you, but he cares about you as a person. The players all respect him."

Bell also indicated that the facilities were phenomenal and he liked the campus, but he kept coming back to the players and the attitude and character they showed throughout the day. Bell traveled to College Station with his father and with the recruiting process under way, they felt they needed to take some trips and become familiar with the process.

"The players are really smart and intelligent," Bell said. "They had their heads on straight and they are focused on getting the program turned around. They were very nice to me and answered all my questions honestly. It was very helpful."

The junior running back is already hearing from Texas A&M, OU, Tennessee, Nebraska, Kansas, Houston, and several others. His running style is very versatile, and that's what most schools like in his abilities.

"I can run out of the I-formation or out of the spread," Bell said. "I have the speed and moves to make people miss or if I need to I have the power to get the tough yards."

At this point, Bell does not claim any leaders, although the trip to Texas A&M did open his eyes to the Aggies.

"I fell in love with the place," Bell said of his visit to Texas A&M.
