Moving In Under The Radar?

Elisha Olabode (Cedar Hill HS) has an impressive offer list. However, he is not talked about on a national level. Olabode has A&M ties and has performed very will so far this year. Websider's Taylor Hamm caught up with Elisha and spoke to him about his recruiting status.

Elisha Olabode (Ceder Hill HS) is quietly flying under the radar as a top DB/Safety prospect. Outside the state of Texas Olabode's offer list is very impressive. Currently Elisha holds offers from SMU, UTEP, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Tulsa, UNLV, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Arizona. Baylor and Texas Tech have picked up interest as well as Michigan.

"Actually Michigan called me yesterday. They told me they like my film a lot and will be following closely."

Olabode is the current teammate of Texas A&M commit Ben Malena, and the future Aggie is doing his part to help Elisha in the recruiting process.

"Ben and I are real tight. Ben has been talking to the A&M coaches for me. Id probably be ready to commit if they (A&M) came with an offer. Ben is going to get tickets for me and take me down for a game at Kyle Field. Im excited about that."

Elisha's A&M ties don't end with his teammate Ben Malena.

"Im actually very good friends with Dominique Patterson. We talk all the time about A&M."

Olabode is a very physical defensive back that isn't afraid to put a hit on a wide receiver. Elisha stands at 5'10'' 176 pounds and has 4.4 speed. Olabode's strengths are his instincts, toughness, zone awareness, run support, and intangibles. As a defensive back, Olabode can play every position in the secondary.

"Im really a safety but they moved me to corner this year. Im considered as our lock down defensive back. I cover the best wide out on the field every week."

Overall, Olabode is as solid a defensive back as you will find at the high school level.
