Desmond Jackson was one of a short list of elite juniors to receive an offer from the Aggies on September 1st. The 6'1'', 276 pound defensive tackle out of Westfield was offered by a handful of top programs including Oklahoma, Stanford, Arkansas, and U of H.

"Im just thrilled about everything going on in my life right now. I appreciate every school that sends me something in the mail."

The defensive tackle position is not where Jackson would ideally like to play in college, and he feels like he has a lot of room for improvement.

"If I could rate myself right now I would give myself a 4 or a 5 because I haven't reached my full potential. I need to work on being more fierce and explosive off the line. At times I feel like I'm not playing the right position. I really want to play nose tackle in college."

The aspiring business major is taking the recruiting process slow but he did grow up a fan of one Texas school in particular.

" Big Texas Longhorn fan growing up. I actually attended their home opener against U of L and I enjoyed the game."

Buddy Wyatt was on hand this past weekend scouting Jackson and Desmond has not ruled out the Aggies as a possible candidate.

"I like A&M a lot. I don't know much about the coaching staff but if they invited me on to their campus for a visit or to attend a game I would be all over it. If a school wants me on campus ill go."
