Hutto native Nehemiah Hicks is now up to 240 pounds and growing. The tight end/defensive end is easily one of the most talented 2010 signees coming in this fall and he is working hard to stay in shape over the off-season.

"I'm actually running and lifting after school trying to stay in shape. Coach K just sent out the updated workouts to us yesterday. There is a lot of conditioning involved. I've also been working on my catching and route running. They want to put 10-15 pounds on me before the season starts," said Hicks.

Even though Sherman told Nehemiah they want him to start off on the offensive side of the ball, they did not rule out the possibility of him moving to the other side.

"Coach Sherman was talking to me a little bit at the spring game and it looks like it's going to be tight end but he isn't sure yet. He might let me play both ways, first and second down on offense, third and fourth down on defense."

"I would prefer to play defense but I want to do what's best for the team. I just want to help out my team as much as I can."

Hicks is already starting to study the playbook and he feels that will be his toughest challenge going into fall camp.

"The hardest thing is going to be catching on to the system and learning the lingo. That's all I am really worried about."

Nehemiah will room with Nate Askew, Gavin Stansbury, and Ivan Robinson. His estimated time of arrival to Aggieland is May 28th.
