Brown Back at Juco for One More

Steven Kurfehs and Brandon Guerrero will be departing seniors after the 2013 season. As the UTSA Coaches said during NSD, they will be looking to replace what they will lose.

Standing 6'3" 225lbs and clocked with 4.5 speed, Dejon Brown will have plenty of options later this summer and fall.

The linebacker, and teammate of Roosevelt Pearson at Mt. San Jacinto Junior College, intended to depart the juco ranks this past recruiting cycle but it wasn't meant to be. Some adversities and obstacles crossed his path so he'll spend one more year playing juco ball before moving on.

New Mexico has already offered and other programs are showing strong interest. UTSA, Fresno State, Arizona, Arizona State and Kansas State are just some of the programs that are knocking at the door.

Brown was taking care of some matters and was not participating at practice when the UTSA Coaching Staff came by recently. That didn't change UTSA's interest as the staff got in their car and drove to his house to try and meet him.

He has the ideal frame for the next level and strikes you with speed and power. Another linebacker who has the skill and athleticism to be on the field all three downs and more. Once he makes his reads and scrapes, Brown gets down hill quickly to attack ball carriers.

As long as Brown takes care of business in the classroom, he will be a hot commodity (just like his teammate Pearson). We'll be keeping a close eye on this one as the UTSA staff has him high on the board.
