Mizerak Gaining Steam

This offensive lineman shed a little weight after a battle with Mono this spring and still weighs in at 270lbs and stands 6'5.5". He's got four offers on the table and more are expected soon.

Tryston Mizerak is a versatile offensive lineman who can play anywhere on the offensive line, but has the size and frame that you look for in offensive tackle to anchor your line.

New Mexico State, Nevada, Rice, & Lamar have extended offers to the North Garland big man. The interested list is a long one. Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Iowa, Utah, Utah State, Texas Tech, TCU, UTSA and Texas State have all been in contact.

The UTSA coaching staff has shown interest in Mizarek and stopped by North Garland during the spring to get eyes on. Although he was sidelined with his illness, his film showed great versatility and lateral quickness.

He tried to recently attend a UTSA satellite camp, but he played it safe in resting and recovering from a pulled quad muscle. That hasn't kept the UTSA staff from staying in contact through social media and phone calls.

Mizarek does believe that he's being looked at as a tackle because that's where he's lined up in his game tape. The bonus is that he's played all positions on the o-line and in a pinch can block wherever you need him.

Look for Mizarek's recruitment to pickup with BCS programs potentially on the cusp of offering. UTSA is a younger, fledgling program, but that doesn't mean that he hasn't heard of the 'Runners. "I knew about UTSA when they had the FoxSports show (Birth of a Program). It does interest me, but I have to do my research. Look at the student body and academics," said Mizarek.
