Defensive End Commits at Camp

UTSA picked up their second defensive commit on Thursday at their camp held at the Alamodome.

Abilene Wylie Defensive End Baylen Baker came to UTSA's camp on Thursday hoping to land an offer.

"We've been talking about it a lot," Baker said. "I really like UTSA. I was hoping it would happen."

Baker certainly worked well at the camp. In fact, he impressed Defensive Coordinator Neal Neathery and Head Coach Larry Coker so much that they decided to pull him aside during drills.

"I got offered today and I committed," said Baker. "I like the program and I like what they have to offer."

A major factor in Baker's decision was Defensive Line Coach Eric Roark, who worked closely with Baker.

"I like Coach Roark a lot," said Baker. "He's a good guy, I feel like I connect well with him. He can teach me a lot and I know I can learn from him."

Baker measured in today at 6'4" and 254lbs. He plays offense (Tight End) and defense for Abilene Wylie but UTSA likes him at the defensive end position.
