Game Balls (Arizona)

The InsideRunnerSports staff hands out Game Balls for the Week 2 vs Arizona.

UTSA fell to Arizona 26-23 Thursday night in the home-opener. Despite the loss, several players had good performances. We hand out our Week 2 Game Balls.

Offensive Game Ball: TE David Morgan II

TE David Morgan II celebrates a 1st qtr TD.

The Junior Tight End had a carry night catching 5 passes for 76 yards with one touchdown. Two of the bigger plays on the night came from Morgan. First, David caught a third down pass inside of the redzone, then barreled his way into the endzone for UTSA's first score of the game. His second big play in the fourth quarter as UTSA looked to be on the brink of falling too far behind. On fourth and 11 at their own 37 yard line, QB Tucker Carter connected with Morgan for a 25 yard strike that setup a UTSA touchdown.

For Morgan's career night, he earns our Offensive Game Ball.

Defensive Game Ball: LB Drew Douglas

LB Drew Douglas celebrates a 2nd qtr TFL.

The Junior LB lead a second quarter charged that propelled the Roadrunners to the lead. With UTSA trailing 14-13 and Arizona backed up in the shadow of their own goal line, Douglas make a huge tackle for a loss. A few plays later, Douglas and the rest of the Hard Hat Defense forced Arizona QB Anu Solomon out of the endzone for a safety. UTSA took a 16-13 lead.

Douglas recorded 7 tackles with 2 for a loss. For his effort, he earns our Defensive Game Ball.
