FAU Shocks UTSA, 41-37

Florida Atlantic rallies to give UTSA their first loss in Conference USA play.

Florida Atlantic rallied from a double digit deficit late in the fourth quarter to shock UTSA in the opening game of Conference USA play for both teams Saturday night in Boca Raton, Florida.

It was a back forth game that saw UTSA hold a 37-27 lead with 7:54 to play. That is when FAU scored touchdowns on their next two drives. The first coming on an 11 play 75 yard drive and the game-winning possession coming on a 9 play 93 yard drive that left just 0:20 seconds on the clock.

UTSA had a chance as the Kam Jones took the ensuing kick off 87 yards down to the FAU 13 yard line. With just 0:07 seconds left, UTSA had two chances to win the game.

On the first play, QB Tucker Carter threw an incomplete pass to TE Cole Hubble. After a timeout, Carter hit WR Marcellus Mack in the endzone but Mack was hit hard and the ball was jarred loose.

The loss puts UTSA's record at 1-3 overall and 0-1 in CUSA play.
