Game Balls (UNT)

The InsideRunnerSports staff hands out Game Balls for the North Texas game.

UTSA closed out the 2014 season on Saturday with a 34-27 win. Here are the game balls

Offensive Game Ball: QB Tucker Carter

Finally healthy for the first time all season, the Senior QB played his best game as a Roadrunner. Carter threw for a career-high 277 yards on 18 for 29 passing with two touchdowns. Looking as sharp as we've seen him all season, Carter was a perfect 5 for 5 for 59 yards on UTSA's opening drive that saw him hit WR Marcellus Mack for a 9-yard TD pass. Later in the second quarter, Carter led a drive down the field where he scampered into the endzone on a QB-keeper. In the third quarter, Carter threw one of his best passes of the season hitting WR Kenny Bias for a 39 yard touchdown. Overall, Carter had great command of the offense and had his best performance in his final game. It was a good end to an up and down season for Carter.

Defensive Game Ball: S Michael Egwuagu

The Central Texas-native had a heck of a game in the second half. Last week, Egwuagu was ejected on a borderline targeting penalty last week vs WKU so he had to sit out the first half of this weeks game. Once the second half started, Egwuagu was a force for the Hard Hat Defense. On the afternoon, Egwuagu recorded a team-high 8 tackles. He also forced a fumble.
