Juco Signing Day

For all Junior College prospects expecting to be mid-year transfers, today marks the beginning of their signing period. UTSA has already added 3 LOI's from Juco's and we have a breakdown of the signees.

The first three Juco signees are in for Head Coach Larry Coker and his staff. UTSA is losing 36 schoarlshiped seniors, so there could very well be more signees during the month long signing period.

Here's a look at today's mid-year transfers:

Corbin White

RB - 5'11" 220lbs (Northeast Mississippi JC)
A bigger, heavier type of running back that has a fullback's frame. The big difference is that White does have legit speed, timing as fast as sub 4.5. For a bigger back he excels with change of direction and cutting ability. He can be explosive once getting into the open field or outside edge. Because of his build and speed, he can run in between or outside the tackles. White is a 3 for 2 signee.

Jonathan Tuiolosega

DT - 6'2" 290lbs (Monterey Peninsula JC)
Is a run stopping D-tackle who knows how to fight off blockers or stand them up. Has a wrestling background that has helped in his transition to the football field. He uses his hands well to disengage from O-lineman and make plays. Has a good motor and shows a knack for getting through the line of scrimmage and making plays in the backfield. Like White, is also a 3 for 2 signee.

Lakel Bass

OLB - 6'1" 227lbs (Hutchinson JC)
The outside linebacker committed to UTSA just nearly 24 hours ago and he's now signed his paperwork. With his 4.6 speed, Bass is expected to contribute immediately at the "Hawk" backer position in Neal Neathery's 4-2-5 scheme. His stout frame allows him to by physical and punish ball carriers. He's a proven tackling machine leading the Blue Dragons this past season with over 100, but also has a knack for pass coverage, in picking a team high, 4 INT's. Bass will have 3 years to play 2 on the field.
