UTSA Blows Out UTPA

UTSA traveled down to the Rio Grande Valley for a Monday for their last non-conference matchup of the season. We recap the game.

Back in November, Texas Pan American came into the Convocation Center handed UTSA their first loss of the season in a closely contested game. On Monday, the 'Runners got their revenge.

On the heels of a 19-5 run to start the second half, UTSA blew out UTPA 68-43 in the 'Runners' final non-conference game of the season.

Defensively, UTSA would hold UTPA to just 35% shooting from the field. On offense, the 'Runners would shoot 47% from the field and from beyond the three point line.

Four players scored in double figures led by forward Jeromie Hill. Guard Ryan Bowie continued his hot shooting ways scoring all of his 15 points on 5 three pointers.

Continuing to play well, center Kaj Bjorn Sherman posted a near double double with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Keon Lewis added 12 points.

UTSA is now 8-7 overall. The 'Runners are back in action on Saturday afternoon for a CUSA matchup vs UTEP. Tip off at the Convo is set for 2pm.

Game Note: For the third straight game, guard Larry Lewis did not play. Lewis, who was nursing a hand injury, did suit up vs La Tech on Saturday but he did not play in that game as well as at UTPA.
