On Monday, Conference USA announced that UTSA Forward was named to the All-CUSA First Team. Following an afternoon practice, Hill spoke about receiving the honor. “It was a bit of relief, a bit of shock, a bit of excitement,” Hill said about learning of the honor. Coming off a knee injury that saw him miss all of last season, the Australia-native has had a career-season in his final campaign as a Roadrunner. Hill is averaging 16.3 points per game and 8 rebounds per game. “Definitely all of the hard work has paid off from being out injured, sitting out a whole year, doing rehab, watching a lot of UTSA losses. To be able to come back, to be able to play good, and to get recognized is mixed emotions. It felt pretty good. Tons of emotion, more happiness than anything,” said Hill. This is the first time a UTSA player has been named to an all-conference first team since Devin Gibson was named to the All-Southland first team in 2011. “What more can you ask for,” Head Coach Brooks Thompson said. “He comes back from an injury after sitting one year and has this type of year. As a coach, you can't ask for anything more. You can't ask to coach any better person than what he is. I'm grateful and glad that he was noticed.” Hill, who was named to the All-Conference Academic team last week, has already earned his undergraduate degree and just needs a few more classes to earn his master's degree. He intends on staying at UTSA through the summer to complete his graduate work. “He already has his undergraduate degree. He's going to get his graduate degree before he leaves. He's meant a ton to this program the five years he's been here,” said Thompson. Here is the rest of the All-Conference Teams announced by CUSA Monday: FIRST TEAM
