Safety Considering UTSA Offer

This Safety was offered by UTSA earlier this week. With seven offers, he talks about where UTSA stands.

On Tuesday, West Brook Defensive Back Innis Gaines was offered my UTSA.

“They told me earlier in the spring that they liked me a lot,” said Gaines. “They called my head coach on Tuesday. During athletic period, I got on the phone and they told me they had offer for me.”

The Beaumont native says he likes what UTSA’s program has to offer.

“It’s a great school,” said Gaines. “I know they play in the Alamodome, which is awesome. This is going to be their fifth season so they’ve done pretty well.”

Gaines is 6’2” and 191lbs. UTSA is recruiting him to play Safety, which fits his skillset.

“My best skill is getting to the ball, I’ve got great ball skills. I’m good at coverage and good at tackling,” said Gaines.

UTSA is Gaines’ seventh offer. His six other offers are from: McNeese St, SFA, Tulsa, North Texas, Eastern Michigan, Northwestern State, and New Mexico.

“I’ll make a decision sometime this summer. I need to some time to think about everything.”

Gaines says he’s looking at more than X’s and O’s when making his decision.

“I want to go to a family oriented football team where everybody closet-knit. To me, that’s what a great program is,” said Gaines.

Gaines says he plans on attending several camps this summer. The only ones he has set so far is the Texas camp on Sunday and the UTSA camp in July.
