UTSA Still An Option

With a handful of offers on the table, Houston Reagan MLB Robert Revels talks about his plans for the offseason and his senior season.

After a pretty successful Junior season, Houston Reagan HS MLB Robert Revels snagged a UTSA offer after attending the Junior Day camp.

“It was the first offer I had received from a head coach. I wasn’t expecting it so I really liked that.” said Revels.

Even after obtaining offers from Colorado, Tulsa and Indiana, Revels still sees UTSA as a definitive possibility.

“I’m going to make sure I’m at UTSA’s first game against Kansas State. I know that for sure.” said Revels.

Although recruitment has slowed down over the summer, Revels does plan on visiting colleges over the summer.

“I’m thinking about visiting UTSA during this summer; and probably Tulsa, Colorado and Indiana too.” said Revels. While waiting for more offers, Revels says he plans on taking his senior season to a whole new level after getting booted out of the playoffs in round one last season to Katy Taylor High School.

“I feel like I’m about to have a very good senior year. I’m waiting to see what happens.” said Revels. “I’m a run-stopper and I’m very aggressive. This year is going to be taken to a whole new level. Aggressiveness, turnovers, everything.” said Revels who wields an impressive 1 interception, 2 defensive TDs, 2 forced fumbles and an All-District Title.

Even though Revels is still waiting for more offers before committing, he does know what he wants from a college.

“I’m looking for the most family-like school with good education that allows me to play early. I’m also looking for a team with a good schedule. I really like UTSA’s schedule. The coaches aren't scared of anybody. That’s what I like. I want to play the best of the best.”

Revels, who is 6’2 and 227lbs, has already visited Tech, Texas State, Houston and Rice.
