Morgan Poised for Big Season

UTSA Tight End David Morgan has established himself as a legitimate offensive weapon. Poised for a big season, the senior from Marble Falls talks about fall camp.

Interview with UTSA TE David Morgan:

How was the summer?
“It was a good summer, everyone put in a lot of good work, there was a lot of off time. I think everyone got better in the summer and we’re just getting ready for the season.”

What was media day like?
“It was fun. I was honestly blessed to be a part of that. I was honored to represent our school and the city. It was a really great experience.”

How do you feel being picked last to finish in the division?
“It really doesn’t matter with some of those things. Whatever they think, they think. In the years past, when they predicted we’re going to do well, when haven’t done so well. That makes us have a little bit of a chip on our shoulder, I think it gives us a little bit of an edge.”

What are the differences between QBs Blake Bogenschutz and Russell Bellomy?
“They’re actually really similar. They’re both students of the game type of guys. Russell got in here real fast, learned the offense really well. He knows what’s going on and was out there commanding the offense. They’re pretty similar in their style of play, I believe.”

What are your feelings on the new up-tempo offense?
“The emphasis has been keeping our conditioning up because of the up-tempo. So we’re just trying to stay in better shape and keep the defense off-guard.”

What are your thoughts on the non-conference schedule?
“It’s going to be a grind but it’s good, those are good games for us and they’ll get us prepared for the upcoming conference games.”
