Arizona Game Balls

InsideRunnerSports hands out our game-balls for UTSA’s 42-32 loss to Arizona.

UTSA vs Arizona Game Balls:

Offensive Game Ball – QB Blake Bogenschutz

In just his second-career stand, the redshirt freshmen from East-Texas broke two school records (passing yards and total offense). They interesting part about Bogenschutz performance vs Arizona is how it started. His first pass of the game was intercepted and returned for a touchdown. But following that, Bogenschutz settled himself down and played one of the games UTSA has ever seen out of a quarterback. All told, Bogenschutz would complete 25 of 43 passes for 332 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He would also rush for another 27 yards. For his poise and record-setting performance, Bogenschutz earns our offensive game ball.

Defensive Game Ball – DE Jason Neill

As expected, the senior DE anchored down the Hard Hat Defensive Line. Neill finished the night with 4.5 total tackles (4 solo and 1.5 assisted). Neill had one of the huge moments in the game for UTSA. After UTSA put up a FG early in the second quarter, Neill stripped Arizona RB Nick Wilson. The fumble was recovered by Mauricio Sanchez. Seven plays later, Bogenschutz hit Morgan in the endzone to cut the lead to 14-10 at the time. For his huge play in the second quarter and overall leadership of the defensive line, Neill earns our defensive game ball.
