Offensive Game Ball: RB Jarveon Williams
RB Jarveon Williams had a career-night for UTSA Colorado State. The San Antonio-native set two program-records Saturday night. Williams’ 85 yard touchdown rush was the longest in running play from scrimmage in school history. He would finish the game with 175 rushing yards on 13 carries with 2 touchdowns. The 175 yards is the single-game record for most rushing yards. For his exceptional performance, Williams earns our offensive game ball.
Defensive Game Ball: S Nate Gaines
For the second-consecutive game, Safety Nate Gaines recorded a career-high in tackles while leading the defensive in overall tackles. Gaines followed up his 9-tackle performance vs Oklahoma State with an 11-tackle performance vs Colorado State. The DFW-native recorded 5 solo tackles with 6 assists. Quickly becoming known for his big-hits, Gaines carried the UTSA Hard Hat Defense Sledge Hammer around during pre-game. The Sledge Hammer Award is usually given to the player with the biggest hit in the previous game. For his exceptional performance, Gaines earns our offensive game ball.
